Jane Jane Pollock — “Punching Jackie”

That memory you have as a kid, or wish you had, when you were walking down a road with your hoodrat crew and you noticed an eerie looking house on top of the hill, across the road. There may have been some random lightning over the top when you first locked eyes at the place (for cinematic effect). Following someone’s suggestion to go check it out, you all come across a room filled with cobwebs and instruments. This, right here, is the music created from that room.
Jane Jane Pollock’s early beginnings were found around Michael Arcos’ bedroom in Tallahasse, releasing three albums before extending the project among more musicians looking for the same sound. Their latest and self-titled album was mired in a trailer surrounded by blackberry fields and the album became what Jane Jane Pollock aimed for with their sound, leading it to become their self-titled. An experimental, halloween-laced, psych-folk of an album and that’s not even covering their dusty demos and recordings off of their cassette release, Yard Sale.
